The New Jedi Order is the restored Jedi Order, reformed after the Great Jedi Purge and fall of the Galactic Empire at the hands of the Rebellion, now the New Republic. Maintaining close diplomatic ties with the New Republic, the Jedi fulfill their roles as galactic peacekeepers and diplomats from Tython, the new seat of the Jedi High Council. In addition to the Council, the Jedi is ruled by a Grandmaster whom was elected by the High Council.
SOCIETY & CULTURE
Open to all forms of culture, species, and races; the Jedi have aliens and humans from all corners of the galaxy within their order.
The New Jedi Order seeks to solve problems through rational thought, debate, and truth. Believing that all life is sacred and that free will is a basic right; Jedi strongly support the ideals of Liberty, Universal Suffrage, and Democracy. Because of the belief in these ideals, close diplomatic ties are maintained with the like-minded New Republic.
The Jedi are keepers of history and maintain an impressive archive on Tython. Some of the old archives on Coruscant were recovered, but not all as a lot were destroyed following the wake of the Great Jedi Purge.
Throughout history, the Jedi have been called to resolve conflicts and to bring peace to regions beset by war and turmoil. The New Republic brings the galaxy the greatest stability and maintains peace, as such their ensured existence is deemed vital to galactic peace..
When negotiations fail, or when innocent life is threatened, Jedi are called upon to use their martial ability to restore peace. Violence is only used as a last resort: the Force and a lightsaber are tools, and are never used or thought of as weapons.
Jedi believe that the Force exists in all things. They follow the Lightside of the Force, and use as an ally and guide.
The Jedi Code; Modified by Grandmaster Luke Skywalker from the original code, upon the founding of the New Jedi Order "Jedi are the guardians of peace in the galaxy. Jedi use their powers to defend and to protect. Jedi respect all life, in any form. Jedi serve others rather than ruling over them, for the good of the galaxy. Jedi seek to improve themselves through knowledge and training."
The New Republic greatly respects and reveres the New Jedi Order. They share many philosophical beliefs including the tenets of democracy and peace, which make them natural allies and they maintain close diplomatic relations. The Hapans distrust the Jedi but remain diplomatic when must be made, although the try to avoid contact as much as possible.
The Witches of Dathomir both hate and respect the Jedi, although the Coven and Allyans both distrust them. The Syndicate and other criminal enterprises view the Jedi as meddlesome enemies that want to halt their activities at every turn, but they do respect and fear their power .
The Galactic Empire and Sith Empire are natural enemies of the New Jedi Order. The Empire views the Jedi as heretics that must but rooted out and destroyed while the Sith view them as religious enemies that must be utterly eliminated, with no proof that the Jedi and their teachings ever existed in history.
The New Jedi Order does not posses a Grand Navy or Army, in fact their Naval forces are modest and only intended for defense or missions of diplomacy. However, they do utilize an elite force of non-Jedi known as Antarian Rangers.
In times of great war and desperate need, Jedi have traditionally taken command of New Republic forces in defense of the galaxy. A few Jedi are worth an entire battalion and they are revered and respected as great warriors and commanders.
